Native to the island of Madagascar, ring-tailed lemurs are easily recognized from other members of the Lemur family thanks to their long, black and white ringed tails. Ring-tailed lemurs are omnivorous, like humans, and are most active during daylight hours. The species is critically endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.
