Claws, climbs, and crazy-long tongues—meet Tiffany and Tasha, our tree-loving tamandua sisters! With 16-inch bug-catching tongues and tails built for tree acrobatics, these pint-sized anteaters are big on charm.

Maximum Capacity: 6 guests per reservation time. Guests must be at least 5-years-old to participate.

Animal Encounter Guidelines

Guest Capacity and Age Restrictions:

  • Maximum capacity: Sloths: 4 guests, Tamanduas: 6 guests.
  • Age restriction: 5 years and older. *Giraffe: no age restriction. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • Animal Care Specialists are responsible for assessing guests' behavior during the encounter to ensure safe participation throughout. It will be at the keeper’s discretion to end a session early due to the session becoming unsafe for guests or animals.

Guest Rules:

  • Wardrobe: Closed-toe shoes required; no excessive jewelry. Campground attendants must ensure proper attire before arrival. Animal Care Specialists will perform a secondary inspection if necessary.
  • Restrictions: No smoking or vaping near animal enclosures. Specific behavior guidelines for each animal encounter will be enforced.

Safety Protocols:

  •  Guests displaying symptoms of illness (e.g., fever) will not be permitted. Symptoms must be obvious and indicative of a significant illness.

General Rules for Guests during Campground Encounters:

  • Respect the Animals: Always remember that animals are living beings with their own needs and behaviors. Keep a respectful distance and avoid any actions that may cause them stress or harm. Avoid using profanity and be respectful towards both the animals and Animal Care Specialists.
  • Supervision: Children (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Ensure they follow all guidelines and understand the importance of respecting the animals.
  • Health First: If you or anyone in your group feels unwell, please visit another time to keep our animals and Animal Care Specialists safe.
  • Feeding Restrictions: Only feed animals what the Animal Care Specialists provides, following their instructions. Outside food and drink is not allowed.
  • Keep Noise Levels Down: Loud noises can distress animals. Maintain a quiet and calm demeanor while in their vicinity.
  • Footwear Requirements: Wear closed-toe shoes. Be ready to have them sanitized before the encounter.
  • Prepare for Dirt: Your clothes and shoes may get dirty, so dress accordingly.
  • Follow Staff Instructions: Listen carefully to any guidance provided by Animal Care Specialists. They are trained to ensure both visitor and animal safety. Failure to follow instructions may result in being asked to leave the encounter.
  • Guided Entry/Exit: Do not enter or leave the exhibit without Animal Care Specialists guidance.
  • Comfort Level: If you’re uncomfortable at any time, notify Animal Care Specialists to be escorted out.
  • Avoid Sudden Movements: Move slowly and avoid making sudden movements or loud noises that could startle the animals.
  • Hands Off: Do not attempt to touch or handle the animals unless explicitly allowed and under staff supervision.
  • No Personal Items: Keep personal items like bags, hats, or toys away from the animals.

Animal participation is voluntary and subject to change based on welfare, behavior, and operational needs.
