Also known as South African oryx, this large antelope is native to the arid regions of Southern Africa, such as the Kalahari Desert. They are the largest species of oryx, and the males can weigh up to 530 lbs. Male horns tend to be thicker with larger bases while the female horns are thinner and slightly longer.
