Common Garter Snake
This species can be found from the subarctic plains of Canada all the way to Costa Rica. They have such a wide presence throughout North America because of their ability to adapt to different environments and eat different diets. Garter snakes communicate with each other using a complex pheromone-scented trails. At Wild Adventures, our garter snake looks a little different than others because of a condition called albinism, a genetic mutation that prevents the production of melanin.
