Meet Savannah

Say hello to Savannah! She discovered her passion for animals from interning and volunteering at various facilities and shelters. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Florida.

Currently, Savannah interacts with a lot of the animals at Wild Adventures but mainly provides care for smaller mammals like the Two-Toed Sloths, Porcupines, and Tamanduas. She also oversees care for the Birdhouse and other bird species, reptiles, and the park’s Black Bear.

Savannah’s favorite part of working for the Animal Care team is getting to know all of the animals. She really enjoys discovering their different personalities and different behaviors and is constantly learning each day.

Savannah’s Fun Animal Fact: Tamanduas have a prehensile tail that allows them to securely grip tree branches as they move through trees.

Hello Theresa

Theresa is proud to be a part of the Animal Care team! She recently joined earlier this year in April but brings over 30 years of experience as a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. Caring for animals has been a lifelong passion for Theresa, and she has worked with animals in various capacities throughout her career.

Theresa oversees the hoofstock and animals in the cat family. Her favorite part about her job is building trust with the animals she sees every day. It’s an exciting experience working with so many exotic animals! She also appreciates her team, who she learns things from each day.

Theresa’s Fun Animal Fact: A giraffe's heart weighs between 25-30 pounds and can be as long as two feet. This makes it one of the most powerful cardiac muscles of any land animal. It's incredible strength cycles blood from its neck to its brain.

Introducing Autumn

Here’s Autumn! She began working on the Animal Care team in 2023, beginning at the Liberty Farms Petting Zoo. She worked her way up, becoming an Assistant and preparing animal diets each day. Now, she is a full-time Animal Care team member and continues her hard work each day that she truly enjoys.

Autumn oversees a majority of the birds, reptiles, and small mammals within the front half of the park. Her favorite part of the job is taking care of such a diverse set of animal species and educating guests about each one and their importance to wildlife in the world. Not only can guests enjoy rides and water slides, but they can leave the park with new knowledge and love for animals!

Autumn’s Fun Animal Fact: Parrots are zygodactyl, meaning they have a special toe arrangement where they have two toes facing forward and two facing backwards. This gives them the ability to be excellent climbers and hold their own food.
